At Last!

My big brother is married.
The sealing was beautiful; the bride and groom looked beautiful; the pictures were beautiful and the reception was, well, beautiful.
2 very important ordinances were performed on June 20th. Not only was Evan sealed to Shelbee for time and all eternity, but my other big brother Coulter went through the temple. He was endowed prior the the sealing, so the entire family was able to be in the sealing room together. That was an experience I'll likely never forget. As we've grown older, and as we're all moving forward with our lives, it's much more difficult to all gather together.

I know that I will cherish this weekend until we all are lucky to be together again. It's one of those moments in life where you truly never want it to end.

But alas, it does.

Decisions, Decisions.

I want new glasses.

Of course I'll likely stick to my famous thick framed ones (because I can't possibly go a day without being asked the infamous question, "Has anyone ever told you that you look just like Tina Fey?" Yes. Yes they have.) I digress.... I have a pair of glasses in mind.

I saw these on an adorable blog that I often go to; and I've found myself coming back to them frequently.

Now. They may seem, what you may call, geeky. HOWEVER, I am geeky.... so crazy it might just work.

I believe I've fallen in love.

After much patience...

We finally have internet and cable.

And there was much rejoicing.

HOPEFULLY I'll get to put up some much-awaited pictures soon.... other than this, life is good. We go to Dallas in 5 days to see my cute brother and his cute fiance get married. Then off to Oklahoma for a whole week. So, so excited. It's been thundering and raining everyday lately, and I have to say I've been loving it. It sure brings a nostalgic feeling; makes it feel a little bit like home. Man I miss that state....

Our one year was very relaxed; I don't understand those who say the first year is the hardest. If that's true, we have some outstanding years a head of us. It's been such an adventure, and I continue to learn more about Alex every day.

Lately we've been taking regular walks through the neighborhoods around our apartment. We've had some great conversations. There's just something about being outside that brings great conversation. Sometimes I just can't believe I got him. I'm truly blessed.

Anyway, hope all is well with everyone. I haven't written much because there hasn't been much to write about. Hopefully there will be some spark of excitement soon. :)

To My Love:

I do not love you as if you were salt-rose, or topaz,
Or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off.
I love you as certain dark things are to be loved,
In secret, between the shadow and the soul.

I love you as the plant that never blooms
but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers;
thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance,
risen from the earth, lives darkly in my body.

I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where.
I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride;
so I love you because I know no other way.

That this: where I does not exist, nor you,
So close that your hand on my chest is my hand,
So close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.
-Pablo Neruda

Happy One Year, Alex. Can't wait for the years to come.
